For children entering Kindergarten and 1st grades only, this immersive art week will be led by Hillary Parker, Master Naturalist and art educator for an engaging art camp that explores the art of nature! Campers have fun exploring the environment around them as they learn to create beautiful works of art from the things found in nature. These young artists will have a wonderful opportunity to create a permanent addition to The Skola grounds by creating an outdoor Fairy Forest! This will be their creative outdoor space to dream and build ephemeral works of art made with natural materials, that through the passage of time, are reclaimed by nature. Inspired by Danish artist Thomas Dambo and his Woodland Trolls and the magical fairy houses hidden in Cathedral Woods on Monhegan Island off the coast of Maine, these campers will be creating colorful nature mandalas, whimsical woodland creatures, and fairy houses, from natural materials found in their new Fairy Forest
